SAFEGUARDING POLICY

At Reflect CKD, the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person in our care is a priority.

We want children and young people to enjoy martial arts in an environment where they feel safe, supported, respected and able to be themselves.

Our Commitment

Reflect CKD is committed to:

  • putting the welfare and best interests of children first;
  • providing a safe, positive and inclusive environment;
  • listening to children and taking their concerns seriously;
  • ensuring instructors understand their safeguarding responsibilities;
  • using appropriate safer recruitment and DBS checking procedures;
  • maintaining appropriate professional boundaries between instructors and students;
  • responding promptly and appropriately to safeguarding concerns;
  • maintaining confidential and accurate safeguarding records;
  • providing appropriate safeguarding training for our team; and
  • regularly reviewing our safeguarding policies and procedures.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.

We recognise that safeguarding is not limited to concerns that arise during a martial arts class. If we become concerned about the welfare or safety of a child outside Reflect CKD, we will take the concern seriously and act in accordance with our safeguarding procedures.
